Denver: Part One

Leaving Phoenix was pretty surreal, looking out the terminal window towards downtown, totally lit up by the setting sun.

 I was hoping to catch sight of the giant plume of smoke from the Wallow Fire but no such luck.  Frontier is awesome and has free TV on their flights, so the ride was spent glued to ESPN.  Now it's just sitting and waiting for boarding to start for the midnight flight to Costa Rica.  Can't wait to see the sunrise when we land.  First objective: find awesome breakfast place.  Looking for a place to live definitely takes a back seat for now.

And now it's official. I'll be traveling alone to Costa Rica from 6/7/2011-7/7/2011. A month spent completely on my own in a foreign country with nothing but the pack on my back. Scared? Maybe you are for me.  I'm not one to worry, so naturally I'm pumped for this and confident I can handle all the pickpocketers, volcanoes, pounding waves, jaguars and more than my fair share of bugs and rain.  So now it's off to the internet to scope out some of my chosen destinations:

San Jose (to fly back home)

I don't know whether or not to include Denver, CO in the list, seeing as I have a 9.5 hour layover on the return flight.  Hopefully I can escape the airport and catch a baseball game, or at least find a really good place to have a burger.
